Exploring Nature's Tapestry: 'De Natuur Geknipt' Exhibition at the Flower Art Museum

Last Saturday I was at the opening of the Flower Art Museum's latest exhibition, 'De Natuur Geknipt'. This exhibition, shows work of members of the Dutch association of papercutting and I am part of it. My work is a fusion of tapestries, Wallart, and meticulously crafted papercuts. Bold cutouts and vibrant colors, combined with the art of papercutting.

As you walk through the exhibition, you'll see my cotton tapestries. These large-scale works are my imperfect interpretations of the natural world. And for this exhibition specially I made some more intricate papercuts which ended up as unique artwork and a free floating mobil. But each piece has my bold approach as a base, as I use cutouts to create textures and shapes to make my artwork. Then I transform them digitally into colorful large tapesties or smaller wallart. As the theme was nature, I worked on more flowers and less abstracts.

A Celebration of Harmony

As you immerse yourself in 'De Natuur Geknipt', you'll find yourself looking to a world where art and nature harmonize effortlessly. My bold cutouts and vibrant colors, blended nicely with the delicate art of papercutting. The 'De Natuur Geknipt' exhibition at the Flower Art Museum is a certainly a celebration of nature's beauty and the artistic vision of the artists and me. The exposition will be in the cellars of the old watertower in Aalsmeer until January 14.
