Hello, I am a surface designer, maker and illustrator. My creative process begins by hand: I cut the basic shapes of each design from paper with scissors, then add color and texture digitally. This unique combination of craftsmanship and digital design results in a powerful visual language that reflects my signature style. From tapestries and artprints for my Etsyshop to patterns and designs available for licensing across a wide range of surfaces, every creation is made to bring character, color, and joy into everyday life.
Imperfect handmade cutouts
Every design begins with scissors, black paper, and the freedom to play. Sometimes I start with a clear idea, but often I simply begin cutting shapes and see where they take me. In this video, there was no plan at all — just paper, movement, and intuition. Somehow, I often end up cutting birds. I think their shapes help me find a rhythm and creative flow, allowing my mind to wander freely while my hands keep creating.
The imperfect handmade cutouts are an essential part of my process. They give each design its own character, energy, and human touch before I refine the shapes digitally into bold, graphic patterns and illustrations.
